In December 2015 I took part in a group exhibition at Isetan department store in Shinjuku and Keikyu department store in Kamiooka with Japanese artists 安斎肇さん, 岡本肇さん, 蟹江杏さん, 平島毅さん ,森邦保さん and 米増由香さん
The theme was “Maneki-Neko” the Japanese “beckoning/lucky cat”
I wanted to produce work that gave the ‘Maneki neko’ more of a a ‘pop’ look and avoid the more traditional Japanese colours associated with it.
